3 out of 5: Unbiased, reliable, a tad superficial.
Reviewer: A Kid's Review
”I wish the right wing would please stop slamming every publication that is NOT explicitly slanted to the right as being "biased" and "liberal". Is the absence of a bias evidence of a leftist bias? Because TIME is exactly that; it's so centrist, so bland, that it cannot possibly be slanted either way. The stories are a bit sensationalist sometimes, like most major media these days they tend to jump on the news bandwagon and hammer it home until you can't take any more. But aside from that, the writing is clear and accessible, the content is diverse and occasionally unique, and the diagrams are well executed. It's not a "liberal rag". It's one of the few sources we have left that hasn't succumbed to the anti-liberal media hysteria, though!”
3 out of 5: Liberal Rag
Reviewer: Mike Hollingsworth (Marlton, NJ)
“This ancient weekly continues to be a must read for those who like their news slanted to the left. Like most major media outlets, Time Magazine deftly keeps you informed of just what they want you to hear while pursuing selected topics as top stories timed to coincide with current liberal political agendas. Editorially they make it no secret as to their liberal ideology, which is fine. I just wish Time would have guts to reveal their agenda up front instead of quiet manipulation through timed event revelations. In today’s world there are many choices as to where you get your news information and I would advise, if you are a clear thinking person who makes His or Her decisions based on all sides of a story, that you look elsewhere for your news. For the rest of you, there is still Time.”
3 out of 5: Improving...
Reviewer: A magazine reader
“Recently I've read TIME and found it was getting better and had more articles. It still has the weirdest choice of cover articles. It doesn't have as good writing as Newsweek but it covers more global topics. It covers more topics than any other news magazine; it covers sports, entertainment, arts, and business and science. Sometimes it forgets about the news. TIME still falls behind Newsweek and US News & World Report and waaaay behind The Economist, nor does it live up to the quality of its partners Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly. But it's not a waste of TIME to read it any more. As for the money? Subscribe, don’t buy cover price.”
3 out of 5: A waste of TIME.
Reviewer: Ryan Jahn (Yaphank, NY USA)
“One day I found the urge to get another news magazine (I was already getting US News & World Report)for some weird reason. I knew Entertainment Weekly and Sports Illustrated were partners to TIME, and since I liked EW and SI so much I expected TIME would be just as good. I was wrong. I was very disapointed at the magazines inability to go in depth on anything. Plus it dumped everything down and made bad choices in terms of cover material. It wasn't nearly as good as US News. So I cancelled and subscribed to Newsweek. I'm warning you: If you want a good news magazine get Newsweek and if you want a great news magazine get US News & World Report. I found them to be way better than TIME. TIME was a waste of time (and money).”
3 out of 5: Once great, now a cheap tabloid.
Reviewer: RPK (California, USA)
“Stupid articles glorifying celebrity culture, "smart & sassy" commentary about worthless "news" topics, and lame articles about the latest fad toys. Hooray. I don't know what happened to this magazine. Its journalistic standards went out the window, and has been replaced by a disgusting obsession with sensationalism. Filled with watered-down commentary and dumped-down prime-time television style investigative reporting, you might as well call it McNews.”
