4 out of 5: TIME is not bad.
Reviewer: Takuya Murata (Winona, Minnesota United States)
“I don't think TIME is an exceptional magazine. TIME covers nothing but articles that other magazines or newspapers cover. But, TIME is the most helpful magazine to know what's going on in the United States and the world. Though it is careless to subscribe only TIME, you should subscribe TIME along with other magazines.”
4 out of 5: Don't Listen To the Critics.
Reviewer: A magazine reader
“As an avid reader of about 25 magazines a month, I believe that Time, though not the best, is a good magazine. It gives detailed articles on the week's events and is helpful for putting all those bits and pieces of details together. Many of its cover stories are provocative and informative. It's worth it.”
4 out of 5: A timely supplement.
Reviewer: tvtv3 "tvtv3" (Sorento, IL United States)
“In its glory heyday, TIME was a magazine that delved deep into the big national and international political stories. Though the cover and pictures have become glossier, the magazine has lost much of its own gloss. The news stories usually don't dig too deep and there are a lot more issues devoted to social causes and societal problems (education, genetic research, breast cancer, etc.). Still, TIME still offers a compact view of what happens in a week and provides for good reading. A nice supplement of news reading to a major metropolitan paper.”
2 out of 5: Liberal bias and peculiar prioritizing mar magazine.
Reviewer: Tom Hinkle (Tulsa, OK USA)
“For a fair, impartial rendering of the news, stay away from TIME. This magazine uses many subtle and not-so-subtle techniques to make its liberal proselytizing clear. I'll give some examples here. Several weeks ago, the cover of TIME showed the White House under a dark cloud, as they attempted to paint the Enron scandal as Bush's potential Watergate. Rewind several months back (before the 09/11 tragedy), and the magazine was reacting in horror to Bush's non-ratification of the Kyoto treaty. The very next week came a cover story about global warming. Coincidence? No, just part of the agenda. During slow news weeks, the magazine has some odd choices for cover stories. Do archaeological findings concerning the supposed origins of man really warrant a cover story? How is that going to affect your day-to-day life (besides indoctrinating you in Darwinism)? I do give the magazine much credit for being informative during and immediately after the 09/11 tragedy, but that does not make up for a magazine that regards its own agenda as being more important than delivering the news.”
2 out of 5: Love Time Magazine.
Reviewer: Jason Shaw (Seattle, WA USA)
“Time magazine offers very insightful and generally unbiased articles and commentary on current issues. I rely on it to provide me a bit more depth than that provided by the newspaper. In addition to the articles, I also enjoy the photos and graphical illustrations that provide the extra layer of information that is difficult to convey with text alone.”
